There is often some confusion between the terms « edited » and « retouched », and it is important for me to make sure that my clients understand the difference, for them to be aware of what they will get after a photo session.
Retouching vs Editing

Photo retouching, on the other hand, is a technique meant to improve the appearance of an image, to correct the elements that editing alone cannot address. It includes:

1. Adjusting the background (remove garbage and unnecessary objects);
2. Smoothing model forms (clothes, body, hair);
3. Magnifying the skin (reflexes, tone, light, shadow) or the smile (make a slight correction of the color of the teeth if necessary);
4. For large portraits, performing detailed work with skin ( removing acne, scratches, scars, bruises, wrinkles) and illuminating the eyes (emphasize the expressive look);
5. Detailed work with color and light; toning if needed;
6. Enhancing sharpness (add where required).

To put it simply, editing means altering an image using the most basic photo manipulation techniques. Editing includes cropping, leveling the horizon, and correcting the sharpness in color, white balance, exposure, highlights, shadows, and contrast. All the images which you will receive by file transfer will be edited.
Editing
Photos do not always need deep retouching. Below is an example of the original and final version of the image:
